First look at Burn (Rephaim #4): a teaser

It’s only a month now until Burn – the fourth and final instalment in The Rephaim series – is released in Australia and New Zealand (24 June 2015 – release dates for other parts of the world are below).

Hard to believe we’ve come to the end already.

I’ve had quite a few requests for a teaser, so…here it is! (Click on link or thumbnail)

Back cover blurb:

Gaby remembers everything.

For a year she believed she was a backpacker chilling out in Pandanus Beach. Working at the library. Getting over the accident that killed her twin brother.

Then Rafa came to find her and Gaby discovered her true identity as Gabe: one of the Rephaim. Over a hundred years old. Half angel, half human, all demon-smiting badass—and hopelessly attracted to the infuriating Rafa.

Now she knows who faked her memories, and how—and why it’s all hurtling towards a massive showdown between the forces of heaven and hell.

More importantly, she remembers why she’s spent the last ten years wanting to seriously hurt Rafa.

Australia/New Zealand: 24 June 2015 (Text Publishing)

Hi, I’m new to your series and love it so far, I only just started book 2 this morning 🙂 I’m in the US and can’t find the 4th book even listed for pre-order on amazon… Will it not be available in e-book format in the US until 2016? If so, does anyone know how I can get a copy sooner?

    1. paulaweston says:

Hi Corie. Thanks for your message. I know some readers have bought in copies from other parts of the world (not the most economical option!). I’m not sure if you can purchase ebooks the same way. Shimmer and Burn will be released within a few months of each other in the US next year, if that helps.)

Just because I’m a sucker for punishment, I read the preview. I don’t know why I do this to myself, because it always makes waiting those last few weeks for the release of the book unbearable. However, I can safely say that I am super excited for the book – I’ll probably have to pre-order it because I’m so impatient right now! I can’t wait to read it! 😀

    1. paulaweston says:

And that was my cunning plan… 🙂

Hope you enjoy the full version!

It’s almost here! I can’t wait, this sounds so amazing. It’s going to be so hard saying goodbye to all these characters.

      Tell me about it!

  4. Nikki Cheah says:

Hi Paula, are we able to pre-order the ebook version? I don’t think I can wait for the book to be shipped.. LOL! =P

    1. paulaweston says:

      Hi Nikki,
You should be able to pre-order ebook in all the usual places (definitely kindle and ibooks). Hope you enjoy it!

  5. I am so in love with your books! They are smart, sexy and fun – not to mention the insane mystery that is killing me June can’t come soon enough. Seriously, I sneak awake from my adorable kids daily to escape to the world of the Rephaim. I can’t imagine they won’t continue to grow in popularity. I would kill to see a movie come out. 🙂 So, anyway, I just had to say. Thank you!! Oh and you seriously need a fan site! I would love to debate theories with other fans before book 4!

    1. paulaweston says:

      Thanks so much!
Love to hear your theories. 🙂 Feel free to post here and I can post link on Twitter and invite other comments. Only if you want to, of course. ?

  6. Maylene Meas says:

If you really can’t wait…I’d recommend my Australian publisher direct, for pre-ordering: https://www.textpublishing.com.au/books/burn
      Hope that helps. 🙂

About Me

I’m the author of the Rephaim series and The Undercurrent.

For my day job, I’m a writer-journalist-professional communicator, where my writing involves a lot less profanity.

I grew up in regional South Australia and now live in the Scenic Rim with my husband and a retired greyhound.

If you’re interested in how I came to land a publishing deal, you can read the short version in this post from August 2011. There’s a longer version (in a guest post) here.
