I absolutely fell in love with your Rephaim series so thank you for writing such gripping novels! After finishing Burn I felt as if there was so much more to be told what with the hints to the final battle yet to come and the relationships with the Fallen and their children, would there ever be a possibility of you continuing the series and did you leave the ending slightly open deliberately?
Thank you 🙂 I did leave the ending open intentionally at the end of the Rephaim series, mainly because life doesn’t wrap up neatly. But I also gave myself options in case I wanted to revisit that world down the track. I’d only do that if I had a great idea (it would definitely be from different characters’ perspectives), and I’ve been busy these past years with other stories, including the one I’m currently working on. Having said that, I’ve just re-read the Rephaim series (I was missing the characters!) and do have the stirrings of an idea…Nothing concrete at this stage, and it will be a while before I could even start to explore that. But just thinking about it makes me smile. Thank you for your comment – and for loving the series. 🙂
The idea of different peoples perspectives is definitely interesting, what with the entrance of loads of new characters in the last instalment, and the fact that you’re potentially getting the beginnings of a new idea I massively exciting!!!! I won’t get my hopes up just yet though haha, I also love the fact that you’re able to re-read the series and get just as imersed as all of us – just goes to show what an incredible read it was! Good luck with everything you’re working on now and I can’t wait to read it all!?
Thanks Holly! 🙂
I very much enjoyed the Rephaim series. When I read your books I feel like I am there. After reading Shadows I was immediately hooked. I wanted more of the story, to solve the mystery, and learn more about these amazing characters. Rafa is my favorite. I do not typically re-read a book unless it moves me and I have read shadows 3 times, and burn twice. Thank you for bringing these books and characters to all of us.
I occasionally look to see if you have new books coming out and was excited to see that something is coming soon. I am looking forward to reading it. I hope it will be in the US soon!
Thank you LeAnne. I hope it will be in the US soon too, but no news on that front yet. 🙂
I REALLY loved every one of your books in this series! Honestly I could not put them down and I finished all four of them within 3 and a half days! You are an amazing author and I really hope that you don’t stop writing because I’m sure you have many more wonderful ideas to bring in this world! I really cannot wait to read what you have in store for us and I like so many of your other wonderful fans, will be waiting for your next book. Until then, I’m really REALLY hoping you would write and possibly publish a short story/novel about Jude and Daisy…? I absolutely adore them in every way imaginable. Thank you for your amazing work, it really made the bad days better 🙂 Love from U.S!
Thanks Julie! That’s some power reading. 🙂 I’m fully immersed in a writing a new, non-Rephaim book, but I do occasionally daydream about Jude and Daisy…so who knows. 🙂
Thanks so much for your message. I really appreciate it.
Just read the first book shadows. As younger reader I truly loved the book. I just wish my school had the other 3 books so i could finish the series
I’ve just finished all the books in a silly short time frame. I got absolutely hooked in the rephaim world, and even after I’ve finished them I can’t stop thinking about them!! Will you be releasing more books about the Ankida?
Thanks Jess 🙂 I don’t have immediate plans to write more books in that world (I have a totally new book due out next year – a stand-alone thriller), but certainly wouldn’t close the door to the idea down the track. I’m so pleased you enjoyed the series.
I was wondering whether you were have any books that you are writing at the moment or are coming out soon?
Yes, I’m working on a new project right now – a stand-alone novel that’s a totally new story. It’s set in Australia, is a thriller (I think that’s best way I can describe it!) and features a guy, and a girl who has a special ‘skill’. It will be published in 2017, so it’s still a little way away… I’ll be able to talk about it more later in the year. Thanks for your message. 🙂
I’ve only just recently come across these series of books and ive read them all within a week and now seriously having withdraws lol not much of a book reader but this one kept me up all night and I loved it I know burns the last but It feels like there’s more to come. Is there a possibility that there could be another one ?
Thanks heaps from a very HUGE fan 🙂
Thanks for the lovely message! 🙂 I really appreciate it. I’m working on something totally new at the moment and don’t have any specific plans for further books featuring the Rephaim… but I never say never, and I do love those characters and that world, so yes, I have left an opening or two. Just in case. 🙂

I’m the author of the Rephaim series. The Undercurrent, a stand-alone speculative thriller set in near-future Australia, will be released by Text Publishing in August 2017.
For my day job, I’m a writer-journalist-professional communicator, where my writing involves a lot less profanity.
I grew up in regional South Australia and now live in Brisbane with my husband.
If you’re interested in how I came to land a publishing deal, you can read the short version in this post from August 2011. There’s a longer version (in a guest post) here.
