Hi Ms Weston, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy The Rephaim series. I bought the entire series three years ago after getting obsessed with them from my library, and every six months like clockwork I get this intense craving to reread them. I just finished my sixth reread and I am just as obsessed with them as I was three years ago. I LOVE angel/demon lore, and Rafa and Gaby’s dynamic is just sooo good, an equal balance of snarky and soft, I’m clutching my heart. There’s not been another series quite like this. (Every time I reread, I wish like crazy I could read Rafa’s perspective, especially during their past, and after Gaby regains her memories! – do you think you may ever write that?) Anyway, thank you so much for sharing this awesome story with the world. I rarely reread books but The Rephaim is one that looks like I’ll be rereading into the far future.

Hi! Thank you for your very kind words. It’s always wonderful to hear from readers who enjoy the series. 🙂 I don’t have any immediate plans to write any more Rephaim books, but I love those characters and that world, so I’ll never say never! (If I did, it would probably focus on characters other than Gaby and Rafa…) Thanks again for visiting. 🙂

  4. Hi I am from pakistan and I bought your books online on kindle about a year ago… I was finished with them in three days (I didnt get a wink of sleep!!) they were totally entrancing and I couldnt even put my kindle down!! (I am pretty sure I havent felt that way about a series since Sarah J Maas, Cassandra Clare or Sherry thomas!)
So I re-read your books the past two days because I needed a bit more Raffa in my life 😛 and I’m just sooooooooooooo curious about the ankida! will there be a fight? will Gabriel make them fight against Lucifer? Will Gaby and Raffa also get married? what about Dani? Will she also learn to be a fighter? what about Jess and Daniel??
hehe sorry but I am a die hard fan!!! I made so much fan art on this series that my best friends feel like killing me [they want stuff about Mortal Instruments but thats too overdone and I feel like your book doesnt get enough recognition 🙁 ]
so sorry for the extra long msg…. I am totally Fangirling 😛
P.s: when can I get your books in Pakistan? I am literally dying for them 🙂

Hello! Thank you so much for this wonderful message. So many great questions! At this stage I’m working on a totally new story (a stand-alone thriller) so I don’t have any immediate plans to write about the world of the Rephaim but (as you point out) there are plenty of loose ends I can play around with at some point, which I just might! I’d love to see some of your fan art if you’d be willing to share. 🙂 (My email is weston.paula@gmail.com). I’m not sure if there will be a local edition of my books available in Pakistan but local bookstores should be able to order in the English language edition from my UK publisher if you’re keen to have hard copies (they might be a little expensive though). There are always online bookstore options that ship around the world (e.g. Amazon). Thanks again for writing – and for buying and read my series. 🙂

      1. THANKS FOR REPLYING 😛 you just made my dream come true! I would be happy to send some of my fanart but I am currently in college and the stuff is back at home 🙁 I’ll send as soon as I can!! Can I just say how awesome you are for replying to your fans comment!! you’re THE BEST!! ??

Hello, I recieved a copy of Shadows for Christmas and LOVE it so far. I’m already a superfan and I’m not even past page 41. ^_^ I don’t know why it took me so long to pick it up. So glad I finally did. I was just wondering if you could tell me the correct pronounciations for Gaby and Rafa. I want to be able to read it all correctly in my head, ya know? 🙂 But in any case, I love it and can’t wait to tackle the whole series. ^_^

    1. paulaweston says:

      Hi Stephanie!
You can pronounce them anyway that works for you…in my head, they sound like ‘Gabbie’ (short sounding ‘a’) and ‘Raafa’ (long sounding ‘ah’). Hope that helps.
Glad you’re enjoying Shadows and thanks for the message. 🙂
      Paula

About Me

I’m the author of the Rephaim series and The Undercurrent.

For my day job, I’m a writer-journalist-professional communicator, where my writing involves a lot less profanity.

I grew up in regional South Australia and now live in the Scenic Rim with my husband and a retired greyhound.

If you’re interested in how I came to land a publishing deal, you can read the short version in this post from August 2011. There’s a longer version (in a guest post) here.
